Lace Headband Pattern

I am so happy you're here and I hope that you find my FIRST ever pattern helpful!
I started designing this simple headband pattern when I was looking through all of the designs online (which are all adorable) but I couldn't find exactly what I was going for.
Thanks to the magic of crochet, You can make just about anything you set your mind to with enough work (and frogging).

So without further ado, Here is my first pattern which uses the diamond mesh stitch! I hope you find it helpful. Please tag me if you decide to post a picture of it because I would LOVE to see everyone's headbands.
Materials:
Size 2 Yarn (I used Cloud by Loops and Threads)
Size 4mm hook (the yarn calls for 3.5, but I wanted this to lay more relaxed so I sized up)
Abbreviations:
hdc: half double crochet
sk: skip
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
dec: decrease
sl st: slip stitch
Pattern:
Make a foundation hdc row that fits the top part of your head.It must be a be a multiple of 4 Mine was 64. ch 3
Row 1 Sk 1 st, sc in next, ch 5, sk 3, sc in next st across row, turn
Row 2 Ch 5, sc in each ch 5 space across row to last stitch, sc in sc from previous row, turn
Row 3 *Ch 5, sc in each ch 5 space across row, repeat from * across
*repeat row 3 to desired width*
Row 4: *3 hdc in each ch 5 space, hdc in sc* repeat across
Sides of headband (repeat on both sides) :
Row 1: turn work, sc across edge, ch 1
Row 2: hdc across SIDE of headband, ch 1
Row 3: turn work, hdc dec, hdc until 2 st left, hdc dec, ch 1
*repeat Row 3 until one hdc is left* (Mine took 5 rows total)
ch desired length ( mine was 35) sl st in each chain, fasten off and weave in ends
There you have it! Your own lace bandana!
